Square Enix recently filed a trademark for the title “Deus Ex: Human Defiance” (the trademark can be found here). Upon hearing this news, many fans assumed that a sequel to “Human Revolution” was in the works, as the trademark listed many different applications of the trademark, implying that Square was keeping their options open regarding what to use the title for. Upon being asked to comment, Square said that they don’t “comment on rumour or speculation”.
A recent discovery has possibly uncovered what the trademark is for. CBS films have registered the domain name “deusex-humandefiance.com” (source can be found here) which points heavily towards a film adaptation instead of a new video game. Of course, one could be developed alongside a film, but history has shown that video game film adaptations never really tend to do very well. The question is do we want a new Deus Ex game if it is to be developed alongside a film? Do we even want a film at all? We will continue to post news as it arrives.

I say, let them try. The worst that could happen is that we end up with a shitty video game-movie tie in. Woopty doo, worse things have happened.
Pretty much what Scott said. Could be fun, Dues Ex has an interesting universe.
